I’ve been quiet…
Thursday, April 26th, 2007I know I’ve been really quiet for a few weeks. I have a ton to share, but it’s not quite time yet. About another week and I should be returning to my normal blogging pace.

I am now officially upset with Apple over this.
It doesn’t really bother me that Leopard needs four more months of development in order to deliver the product that I expect. What bothers me is the explanation… The development of iPhone has delayed Leopard? I think I can speak for most Mac addicts when I say that I am excited about the iPhone, it looks like it is going to be a great product that I will eventually buy, but I don’t want these other revenue streams to steal focus away from the bread and butter of the company… which is computers!
The best computers in the world by the way… and I’m interested in keeping it that way.
And isn’t Apple missing a big opportunity by not releasing Leopard closer to the Vista launch date?
Oh well. At least they are still producing great commercials.

If you have not had the chance to read the transcript from the interview that the Rev. Al Sharpton did with Don Imus, you should take some time to read through that document. I found an abbreviated copy here and the full transcript here. What makes this interview fascinating is how Imus chooses to defend and deflect the full weight of his comments. Now, let me be clear, Imus does apologize for his comments in this interview as he has on multiple occasions through many outlets. He does admit that the comments were wrong and claims that he understands how damaging his language has been. But he points to two issues in order to deflect the idea that he is racist. His first argument basically boils down to this: "I’m not a bad guy."
Two weeks ago I said that if Billy decides to leave A&M for Kentucky, I would forgive him. Kentucky is one of the top four jobs in the country, and is certainly the “heartland” of basketball. You can’t think about college basketball without thinking about Kentucky just like you have to think about Duke, North Carolina & UCLA.
Staying at A&M is a chance to put a program on the map. Kentucky is a chance to become one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game.
Anyways, here’s what I’m getting at… I think he’s going to put my forgiveness statement to the test.
So, let me be the first to say… Thanks Coach. Good luck. We were proud to have you.
Oh… and one more thing… Would you like to take Fran with you? He doesn’t know a thing about defense, but from what we hear, he’s an offensive wizard.

Lent is drawing to a close and with it, the meatless marathon. I know this sounds bad, but I have never wanted Easter to get here so badly before. Sunday afternoon, Johnny, Kyle and I will be having a meat festival for lunch. We’ll each be bringing our favorite piece of dead animal, firing up the grill, and cooking up a great feast. We have no idea how our stomachs are going to respond to meat for the first time in almost two months, but with no Sunday night activities, we’re prepared for the diarrhea potential.
It’s going to be great.
